Terms of Service

1. Who we are

Civio (the Discord bot and the website civio.gg) is made by MoxNexus. "We" and "us" mean MoxNexus. Contact: [email protected].

2. Accepting these terms

By using Civio in a Discord server, adding it to a server, or logging in to civio.gg, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Civio.

3. Who can use it

You must be old enough to use Discord where you live (at least 13 in the UK) and follow Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.

4. The game and its items

• Coins are earned by playing and belong to one server's city. CiviBucks belong to your Discord account.
• Coins, items, homes, CiviBucks and anything else in the game are a licence to use them inside Civio. You don't own them, and they can't be exchanged for money.
• Coins and items can't be bought with real money. CiviBucks can't be traded, gifted or gambled.
• City treasury coins can never be withdrawn by anyone, including server admins and us. They can only be spent on the city's buildings.
• We may change the game (prices, rewards, items, features) to keep it fair and fun.

5. Purchases

Nothing can be bought yet. When CiviBucks or premium features go on sale, they'll be sold through Discord, and these terms will be updated first with the details, including your rights as a consumer, which these terms never take away.

6. Fair play

Please don't:

• use bots, scripts, macros or modified clients to play;
• use alternate accounts or extra servers to farm rewards;
• exploit bugs (please report them to [email protected] instead);
• use Civio to harass people, or put offensive content in names you choose (such as home names);
• try to break, overload or get unauthorised access to Civio or civio.gg.

If you do, we may reset or remove progress, items or CiviBucks gained that way, or block you from Civio.

7. Server owners and admins

• You're responsible for how Civio is set up and used in your server, including its moderation commands.
• Moderation actions (warnings, timeouts, kicks, bans) are taken by your moderators, not by us.
• Your city stays off public leaderboards unless an admin chooses to show it.

8. Availability

Civio is provided "as is". We work to keep it running and your progress safe, but we can't promise it will always be available or error-free, and we may pause, change or end features. If we ever shut Civio down, we'll give notice where we can.

9. Liability

As far as the law allows, we're not responsible for indirect losses, or for the loss of in-game items or progress. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

10. Ending things

You can stop using Civio at any time and ask us to delete your data (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or block access for anyone who breaks these terms.

11. Changes

We'll update these terms as Civio grows. The date at the top shows the latest version; important changes will be announced. Using Civio after a change means you accept the new terms.

12. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you can also use your local courts.
